ABOUT SWNY

SWNY was founded by a Brooklyn native who has always loved clothes, even if he was never especially interested in the fashion industry built around them.

The brand comes from a simple idea: make better clothes. Heavy fabrics. Solid construction. Comfortable fits. Quality materials. Details that feel intentional instead of added for attention.

Too much of fashion has become centered around hype, imitation, industry dickriding, and shock-value imagery that has little to do with making something people genuinely want to wear. SWNY is for people who love clothes without needing fashion to become their entire identity.

The brand is a love letter to New York City, the Caribbean, the 1990s, and the labels I grew up seeing and wearing. It draws from the weight, attitude, durability, and character those clothes had, while carrying the cultural influence of my Jamaican, English and Grenadian roots. It is not interested in simply recreating the past. The goal is to take that foundation and build something personal from it.

Half of SWNY is made up of clothes I have always wanted for myself but could never find exactly the way I imagined them. The other half comes from stranger, more ambitious ideas—pieces I might never personally wear, but still believe deserve to exist because I know they are meant for somebody.

Not everything is made for everyone. Every piece is made with intention, for the people who recognize themselves in it.
